goodbye, … islands of Hawaii

(2015/01/02)…all good things come to an end, especially very fast here while hopping from island to island. Luckily the laundry was done yesterday and my current focus was now to pack and repack two times, because near half of my stuff was stored at Anna and Alex flat. I had my flight booked back to Oahu for the afternoon and the upcoming to New Zealand/Auckland at 10:30pm, so there will be enough time at HNL for meeting Anna to return my tent, repack my stuff and to write a new blog entry. The last flight with Hawaiian Airlines was rewarded with a great view to Honolulu, approaching the Airport with a very close flight parallel to Waikiki. While having an short snack at a sports bar and preparing some posts i got feedback that Anna maybe will to late to come to the airport and i should pickup my stuff at her garage. I short taxi ran solved that “problem” and i was within 60 minutes back at the airport, ready to drop off my luggage at Air New Zealand counter. I was really astonished as a friendly female voice welcomed me.

Proceeding to the gates, passing security checks and arrival early enough to chill and write at the gates are already very good timing and routine now. The plane was very well equipped, totally new and tons of movies in German language stored, USB port and (already the second time) i got a seat with an wiggly audio port. I really hate these stupid double earphone plugs, why i have to use these crappy airplane earphones? For my last flights i always had an adapter, which i soldered a few ears before to convert from double to regard 3,5 stereo plugs for use with my in-ear phones for the best sound, but they broke. I had seen now manufactured adapters, but somehow i cannot find them on the airports anymore. The official airline of Middle-earth has also a matching safety instructions video, which was definitely better then these old fashion and boring clips.

Oh, by the way, i liked the Virgin Airline clip more ;-).

We lifted up into the night, enjoyed the Maze Runner movie and felt a sleep just before the end of it. Doh, have to view the last 15 minutes on my next flight…
