Melbourne-Darwin Day 10 / Kulgera – Kings Creek Campground 320km / Midburn

Screen Shot 2015-03-16 at 20.13.21(2015/03/04) … the daily weather forecast we only check to know, if it will be under or over 35 degrees celsius. Option B was predicted so i decided to start early as possible, skip the rests at the fuel stations and arrive early in Kings Creek Campground. Since today i’m carrying now my MacBook with me, instead of packed on the trailer, because the waiting for the service car and our last drivers was a bit expensive and boring. If they will arrive late again, i will have a way to spend my time more useful. The result was, that i arrived about 12am at our camp ground near the Kings Canyon. You have to know that this is still outback, no phone data, no phone signal, no internet….oh moment..what was that? WIFI! …and fast! I bought my most expensive water ever, 1.5l for $6. (1L fuel, Unleaded 91, price was $2.20 at this station) and thought about enjoying the writing of my blog with air-condition, cold water and my recent ordered fries/chips.

I clicked more accidentally on my email icon, because i didn’t expected or waited for one, but then my eyes couldn’t trust what they had seen. It was the email from Midburn with the information about the ticket sales problem they had a few days before, which Holgi mentioned. Even better, i should buy now my ticket for the burn, because the ticket system is back online and all people who didn’t got a ticket but the email with the unique link can buy now their tickets within the next 42 hours. *YAY* The playa had provided it, i was so happy now to have a ticket for the burn on my last stop on my travel. Writing and preparing my blog let the 3hours waiting for the others passing easily. Finally, i thought about more to play around with my Gopro and check how good it works for a sunset time elapse. While the cam was recording i went with Tobi back to the cafe for some ice. The Kakadu, Charlie, who was sitting before in a cage was carried around by the owner and it was allowed to play/pet/talk with him. Sometimes he answered, but he liked more to be tickled under the wing and head. What a great day, with less sights but with best results for me …
