Melbourne-Darwin Day 11 / Kings Canyon – Yulara (Uluru) 265km

Screen Shot 2015-03-16 at 20.33.28(2015/03/05) … the alarm clock for today was set for very early, before the sunrise. The only chance not to sweat to death while hiking in Kings Canyon is to be there very early. As we don’t stay there for another night, the plan was to be back at 12am at the camp ground for briefing and the ride to Yulara and for the sunset at Uluru. Hardy stayed at the camp so there was a seat in the service car left, because Tobi was driving. It was nice to relax and enjoy the air-condition of a car instead of riding the bike. I really have to say that Kings Canyon is really beautiful, if you find the right time where almost no busses are there. Enjoy the pictures, theres almost nothing to comment the nature, only about tourists. A tour guide explained that you can see here fossilised jelly fish on this plateau on the mountain, followed by a questions from a work and traveler guy, how they did got up there. Ha ha. *facepalm* Thanks to Tobi, he took the better pictures, most of them you are looking to are from him. Within our time schedule we left the campground to Yulara. Before entering the road, i stopped at a water sprinkler on the grass, danced around it to get my motorbike cloths totally wet. Hm, evaporation cooling….but only for about 30km, then everything was dry and become hot again.  About half the way, a beautiful table mountain appeared as an appetiser, which reminded my to the Table Mountain in Captetown, with a small lookout out of amazing red sand, behind a dry salt lake. Arrived, the tents where setup fast, because i didn’t wanted to miss the sunset at the Uluru. Together with Tobi we drove with the Landrover to the carpark and enjoyed the sunset. Sadly it was really windy and my iPhone was mounted on a stative on the roof of the car and felt off. The Gopro had a wrong setting and every picture was white. Doh! No worries, we stay here for two night. As an appetiser i have computed the sunset at Kings Creek Campground from the day before. Have fun, good night…
