Angourie Blue/Green Pool and Wooli

(2015/03/24) … i still had to drive more then 700km to Sydney and only 6 days left, so Balina Lookout and Evans Head Beach were done very quick. The first longer stop for today should had been the Angourie Blue Pool, but as discovered they are labeled now as Green Pool. The pool is old quarry which got flooded by spring water when they got to deep. The area is now really nice planted and nature recovered and invites you to swim and jump from the edges of the old quarry in to the water. Why now green? Algals has now taken over the pools and moved them into green, as not enough spring water flows into the pools (anymore?). Directly on the sea is a second pool which get regulary flooded by the surfs, but didn’t looked so inviting, based on seaweed and dirt/foam which the wind had blown into one corner.

Wooli was todays goal, a small village a long way to get there for a night but it was totally worth. Silence, no rush, awesome lonely beach (only one pickup there, so i didn’t had the chance to make a good picture of it) and a river on the other side of the spit. Looking closer on the river side, there were thousand of blue craps, a try to take pictures leaded that they fled and dug into the wet sand. They also had a nice picnic and bbq area with solar led lights for the night and a good place to stay, write and enjoy one time more a beautiful sunset before an further night in the car…
