Sandspit, the campground with funny art

(2015/01/06) …Yesterday i picked up my pre-shipped box with my HeArts art project and made art as the number one topic for todays agenda. If you arrive in a new country you never been before, you always need time to get used to the names of the stores you always need. A german website helped here a lot an described best where to get your supplies. We spended some hours in the Bunnings Warehouse to get most of the needed items and got my plywood cut at my needed sizes. The feedback of the men behind the saw “We only can do this with +/- 5mm, is this okay?” astonished me a bit. Anyways, i will find a way to get them perfect fit and i need smaller pieces to transport them in the car, i gave him the okay. At least almost every thing was quite perfect, only two sides of six differed at bit by 2-3mm.

Arrived at the Sandspit campground it was time to test the new bought camping gear, test it, get rid of the wrappings and enjoy the first camping day. The neighbours where so friendly they offered us an power extension cord for our tent. I felt like at home and the backpacker girl who never camped before was very astonished how friendly campers are. This site has some long term campers and it was high season based on school vacation and we where really happy to got an spot on the first try.

The friendly neighbour gave us a hint for a short hike to an bay where we can see some art which is created by the owner by campground. The art was really funny and the campground really awesome. I thought, when i would be a child again, i really would enjoyed to stay here. Dinner with BBQ and HB Hell made this day and the evening very pleasant…
