Costco? Costco! / Manta rays

IMG_6536… i woke up as raindrops drummed on my tent, i tried to turn around and sleep another hour, but then i realised that near every muscle in my legs and near my spine was hurting. Okay, reason to getup, stretch the body and get a morning shower. Why does the water so hurt in my face? Oh no, i got also an good sunburn in the face and ears. Due to the bad weather, i decided to do near nothing and write on my blog. In the afternoon i wrote Alan and David what they gonna do in the next days. Later i got a message, that they plan to go night snorkelling with manta rays. Meeting point will be Costco in South Kona. Costco? Oh no, not this name, please. Costco, the wholesale store that we had so much fun on our first Burning Man trip. The delicious chicken we bought as we as starving. I still cannot and will not think on that happening. If someone would like to read the blog from my sister, HERE IS IT. Still thinking on that chicken, i parked my car and waited at the entrance for Alan and David. They told me we could eat a snack before we head on snorkelling. We set down on the benches in front of the Costco and David placed some nachos and some cuscus on the table. That snack looked good and tasted good, but what was that? They opened the other bag and exactly this delicious looking Costco chicken appeared. Mjam, yummy, it tasted as it looked like, awesome! That was a real big chicken, double so big as our Wies’n Hendl! Skin was delicious and the meat was really juicy. There it was, my Costco Happy-End 🙂 I thanked them very much for this dinner and we drove to the next supermarket where i bought an snorkelling mask. Next to it was an cinema and we checked the playtime of Interstellar, a new movie currently playing, which should be our backup plan, if we didn’t spot the mantas. In front of the Hilton Restaurant/Bar is an big terrace which huge bright floodlights who are faced to the ocean and the area where the manta rays are swimming.IMG_6537 The sea was very rough and the lower terrace which is located nearest to the ocean was closed, because the breaking surfs splashed so hard that every thing got wet there. Sadly no boat was out there which indicated that there would be manta rays and we also couldn’t spot some moving dark areas there. So we decided to do our backup plan and watch the movie, Interstellar. 1000 thanks again to Alan, who invited me to this movie. After this amazing and interesting movie, he offered again, that i can sleep in his guest room/game hall, which is on top of his carport. I decided to do that and move in the next days to him, leave the now rainy side in Hilo. As the movie was quite long and i also had to drove about 2 hours home, i passed the active volcano Kilauea again, now in the percent moment, where it was a bit cloudy but still clear without any mist. There was it, this magic glow, again. The whole area over the National Park was glowing in mystic orange. Again very satisfied i felt asleep immediately after crawling in my tent, it was already about 3am…(2014/12/12)
