(2015/02/21) …this morning the other participants (Anette, Georg-Schorsch, Andreas, Sigmund-Sigi, Dieter) arrived in Melton to pickup the bikes and have the first small tour together. A short tour to the Hanging Rocks and via a dirt road back to Melton. Everything was okay till, after a short stop, we drove on but the bike in front of me stopped unexpectedly and combined with the dust and to distraction to check if i have my beam on (so that you can see your buddy from behind with dust in the mirror) i crashed almost in the slowed down bike. My reaction was to break, but the gravel was too loose and i hit accidentally the front breaks first. *bam* Now i was laying on the ground with the bike on me. Okay, no worries, got some dust of me and we continued the tour. Now i have more respect for that gravel road and make sure to have more safety distance to the others. Driving with new people is difficult, you really have to get a feeling for their behaviours on the road. Arrived safely back in Melton, now if felt it a bit more, where the ground hit my body, but everything was okay, just a bit pain on arm and knee. On the next day, the tour will start to Darwin, about 6000km in 3 weeks…
